In the Amazon jungle of Peru, plantains have been grown for centuries. Plantains are a special variety of banana that is cooked before eating. Plantains have nutritional value and delicious flavor so they are considered a staple food in many tropical regions around the world. As part of main meals, they are eaten steamed or boiled and they are a popular snack food of children and adults alike.
We handpick the plantains when they reach the perfect level of ripeness and processes them fresh, retaining all of their natural goodness. Our plantains come from small plantations — after harvesting, the plantains are thick sliced and then roasted and seasoned to bring out the natural flavor. The result is a light, fresh tasting and healthy snack.
